Istria peninsula has it all – it is a gem with a perfect combination of both rural and luxury locations that will make you fall in love with every single bit of it.
The main beauty is that it has inland and the coastal parts which are close to each other plus it is the largest green oasis of the North Adriatic with rivers, mountains, pine woods, hills, over 400km of coast and wonderful beaches. When talking about Istra, it is very hard to mention just few things because its diversity makes this place a haven on earth for all type of travelers, explorers and guests.
Well known cities are: Umag, Poreč, Vrsar, Rovinj, Pula, Rabac but on the other hand there is Hum – the smallest city in the world.
Probably the most popular picture from Istra is Arena – the world’s sixth largest surviving Roman amphitheater located in Pula. Even though it was constructed between 27 BC and AD 68, it is definitely not the oldest thing found there because dinosaurs footprints were found at the area of Brijuni islands (one of Croatia National parks).
